Together with its customers VAA is continually developing new applications. Applications are based on data-interchange, but on this basis VAA develops trading platforms, EDI-platforms, monitoring systems, systems for benchmarking and systems for data-enrichment and data-analysis. When it comes to sustainability and well-being it can be stated that VAA is involved in (and supplier of ) several governments , supply chain initiatives in various agricultural sectors ( e.g. poultry). Often VAA also develops in these cases the calculation rules and builds KPI’s. Note that standardisation is still not common. VAA is eager to get this on the agenda because transparency in the sector is crucial for its long term viability. VAA is for more than 25 years in business and has 40 employees. VAA has conducted projects for: EDI-Circle (sharing and re-use of digital data in the agricultural sector); auction (an online trading platform for flowers); feed companies (web services to enable interchanging data, apps to order feed and systems for benchmarking); Province of North-Brabant (building an app to measure the farm level sustainability of the production-process on farms); accounting firms (developing systems for management information (KPI’s) and benchmarking); supplier systems (web services to collect this data on temperature, use of feed, water and energy and wellness of the animals).
