Implementing Precision Agriculture in the Australian Rice Industry

Building understanding of how precision agriculture (PA) technologies and processes can improve profitability of Australian rice farmers and fostering on-farm adoption. Objective summary • Build a strong level of awareness of what PA can offer the Australian Rice Industry and the economic justification for implementation. • Identify trends in yield limiting factors across 10 focus farms and develop guidelines for implementing PA. • Up-skill all rice farmers who have an interest in PA to a level of competence where they can confidently implement PA. • Deliver innovative agronomic and other crop management practices solutions to within paddock variability, through a network of on-farm R&D. • Identify crop productions knowledge gaps and intergrate into further R&D projects.
