Dalarna University (Högskolan Dalarna) is a government-funded institute of higher education that operates according to Sweden's Higher Education Act and Higher Education Ordinance. It is a relatively new higher education institute in Sweden, established in 1977. Dalarna University offers programmes and courses that have a clear connection with research and employers' needs at both the local and international level. Currently, the university offers three doctoral programmes (third-cycle), 22 master’s level (second-cycle), and 46 bachelor level (first-cycle) programmes. At Dalarna University, we collaborate with external parties and society in a great many ways. The close collaboration we have with business and industry, including the public sector, means that our research is up-to-date and relevant. Our vision is to create open pathways to knowledge for a good society. We are committed to co-create self-formation, education and research in Dalarna and in the world. The new vision of Dalarna University, adopted in 2014, defines our values: openness, courage and responsibility.
