Today, the higher agricultural education of Cluj is one of the most prestigious in Europe in the field of education as well as in the field scientific research.
During its 145 years existence, the economic school of Cluj has benefited from the contributions of many outstanding personalities of the Romanian educational and scientific environment.
The university graduates, specialized in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, animal science, biotechnology and veterinary medicine have yielded outstanding results in the production process, as well as in the field of scientific research in Romania and abroad.
The success of our university is widely acknowledged, as it benefits from national as well as international accreditation. Following the year 2000, the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca has witnessed a spectacular development. The specialization palette became more diversified; many new departments were established and the students from Romania and from abroad study together.
Currently, the academic staff and the students (more than 7000) benefit from an exceptional studying environment for their theoretical and practical training: lecture halls, laboratories, reading rooms, experimental research facilities, veterinary clinics and a fully equipped library.
A significant part of the academic staff, especially the younger members and the PhD students, benefit from the opportunity to study and research at universities in countries with a highly developed agriculture.
The cooperation with the higher education institutions and agricultural production units from states of the European Union provides the framework for the annual practical training organized by the USAMV Cluj-Napoca for most of the students of the four faculties.
Our university has already established a collaboration with universities and research institutions in over 50 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America.
We firmly believe that in the years to come USAMV Cluj-Napoca will continue to develop, thus contributing, by means of a high quality instruction, to the improvement and the modernization of the Romanian agriculture.
