Development of an integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platform that includes from hive to table residue and odor (aroma) tracking system in hives for more reliable honey production

Call identifier:
Call for transnational, collaborative, inter-/transdisciplinary research projects on ICT-enabled agri-food systems
The Food Safety is getting more interest day by day all over the world. On the other hand improvement of technology is giving more advantages to ensure the Food Safety. The honey is one of the most consuming and adultered products around the globe. The beehives must be healthy for the quality of bee products. A healthy hive is a hive that is away from chemical residues such as pesticides and antibiotics. In this project, the gas composition in the environment will be measured with electrochemical (electronic nose) devices and the health and aroma status in the hive will be monitored. Through the data collected a system will be trained with machine learning algorithms and an artificial intelligence module that gives early warning will be developed. This artificial intelligence machine learning module will be supported with geographical information systems and data around apiary, as well as data from electrochemical sensors.
