University of Bergen (UiB) is a public university established in 1946. It is situated on the Western Coast of Norway, in Bergen, a city with about 260,000 inhabitants. It is an internationally recognised research university with more than 18 000 students, including around 2 000 international students, and close to 4 000 employees. The academic units of UiB include seven faculties, University of Bergen Library and University Museum of Bergen.
