Description:

Since 2014, we have been operating the first and the only severe weather detection network in Turkey that is one of the first 10 countries, who track lightning and severe weather in parallel to weather radars. This experience gave us the edge to archive severe weather events in the country and now we have the big data to teach our servers, which part of the country is more prone to severe weather. We developed the web platform and various algorithms on existing development servers on tarla.io. The appropriate interpolation functions, which are required for the pinpoint forecasting, have been integrated into the algorithms running on tarla.io cloud servers. In our current system, the weather forecasting and the relevant recommendations for the registered domains can be provided to the users. Additionally, the data of preceding year has been collected and archived. This real and practical data is actively being compared with the real-life experience in order to improve the available algorithms.
In 2015, we started to design a sensor package including hardware and software to track the vinery field with our partner in Portugal. This hardware-software package taught us how to handle streaming flow of environment data. The ability to fetch big data and process it on the go is an important step for the proposed project.

In 2017, we started to acquire high resolution and daily satellite images to understand the ground truth. This enabled us to cross check ground claims with the changes on the land piece. With the abilities we have and the customer experiences we gathered, we were able to bring all of this unique data sources to monitor the heartbeat of the field.

Multimillion-dollar companies in Turkey are now using our platforms now. We have managed to include 30.000+ farmers into our platform. So both farmer and institution interface are being tested by target users. Our target is to improve our product and to serve more than five hundred million farmers in the whole world.
